Performing for a living – or just for the fun of it – can be a pleasure. It can also feel precarious and a pressure.
You are constantly putting yourself on the line, living up to your own and others’ expectations and facing accolades and criticism. That’s the excitement of it. It is also what can build stress levels, undermine confidence and lead to performance anxiety. Balance is all, but how to achieve it? Transforming a negative cycle of belief and action into a positive cycle can feel daunting – but it need not be. I can help you to achieve that balance and retain it. I can help you to identify and clear the blocks to your success.
Taking control
How
you think and feel is crucial to your success.
You can learn to create a positive cycle of self-belief so that
you are ready to give a peak performance, approaching it in a relaxed,
calm and confident manner. By
using techniques drawn from hypnosis, NLP and EFT, you can learn to
restore the balance between desirable tension and relaxation that is so
vital to a good performance.
My experience
As well as having a LAMDA qualification, I have experience of performing both as an amateur in an award-winning group and as a semi-professional. I have taught Drama to school students and to post-16 dance students at the Northern Ballet School in Manchester. I have directed plays for an amateur theatre group.
Before I came to see you, I felt that one particular issue needed addressing (increasing anxiety about performing as a singer). The sessions enabled me to calm myself down and learn some important relaxation techniques. When I came to the end of the series of sessions, I felt I had been able to turn my thought processes towards a much more positive way of thinking. Debbie H.
